'Adan Governorate

Adan (Arabic عدن ʿ Adan, in German also Aden) is one of the 20 governorates of Yemen. It is in the south of the country.

Adan has an area of 1,114 square kilometers and about 764 342 inhabitants. This gives a population density of 686.1 inhabitants per km ².

By 2004, the archipelago of Socotra was part of the government Adan, today it is part Hadramauts.
