Marriage is ... ( 'Til Death, analogous translation: " Till Death ...") is an American sitcom that was developed by the couple Cathy Yuspa and Josh Goldsmith.
Action
In a suburb of Philadelphia, the two couples Strong and Woodcock live next door. The Starks are at the beginning of the series since 8743 days ( ie since almost 24 years ), the Woodcock married for 12 days. The Starks recognize the example of Woodcocks, how very lost their own relationship over the years in harmony and romance. Conversely, the Woodcocks is clear by the Starks that even with them, the honeymoon will not last forever. After leaving the Woodcocks from the series Stephen and Simona are the friendly couple of Starks.
Eddie - Edward actually Meryl - Stark is a history teacher at a high school and the central character of the series. He sees himself as a mentor of his newly-wed neighbor Jeff Woodcock and will never tired to give this advice for the treatment of wives. Since Eddie has a very cynical character, Jeff likes this advice is not always followed - and when he does, it rarely has the desired effect. Jeff will be informed at the beginning of the series of new assistant principal at the same high school, at the Eddie. Therefore, the two form a carpool and come up nearer, as Eddie would like.
Joy Stark is a consultant in a travel agency. It recognizes more than her husband, which (in contrast to the Woodcocks ) has been lost in their marriage, and often strives to revive these properties. Since the relationship between the spouses is stable and based on genuine affection, she succeeds the most. The long years of marriage to Eddie's side she has survived because it is able to respond quickly to unforeseen situations.
Steph Woodcock is writing her dissertation on the French Revolution and is therefore currently not working. During the summer holidays Jeff finds out that Steph not really working a lot on her dissertation, but a relaxed life leads home. She is much more attractive than her husband and married him because she was looking for a man its wild students time, which is caring and reliable. Jeff therefore wonders sometimes if he can keep this woman on a permanent basis.
Allison Stark, the daughter of the Starks, lives with her husband, Doug Of Stuessen who believes to live in a sitcom, in a mobile home in the garden of her parents. At the beginning of the series, both studying at the University Upton. Allison makes there a degree in ceramic science, where Doug is also her trainer.

- The actor Ray Romano has resulted in 16 of the first season ( The Italy - trauma) a brief guest appearance. In March 2010, the FOX network decided, due to numerical quotas to order any further episodes more. This means the end of the series after four seasons.
Broadcast
The show was first broadcast in the United States on September 7, 2006. The second season was sent in September 2007. Season 3 ran from September to October 2008, and consisted of only 7 episodes. Between October 2009 and June 2010, the fourth and final season of the series ran. This was unusually long with 37 episodes, as it contained many episodes that were required on the production code for the third season. So ran et al three older episodes until after the last episode produced.
Jeff and Steph were replaced in the third season by the new main character Kenny (JB Smoove ).
Since February 2008, the first season was also shown on German television on Comedy Central. The second season was broadcast in Germany in March 2009.
