.17 HMR

The .17 Hornady Magnum Rimfire ( .17 HMR ) is a small-caliber rimfire cartridge which is commonly used for hunting predators and convincing.

Developed the cartridge from the .22 WMR. For the case neck of the .22 WMR was drafted to 4.8 mm and is used a reduced hunting bullet with a diameter of ~ 4.4 mm ( 0.172 in ).

The projectiles typically weigh 17 to 20 grain and have a short projectile plastic tip.

Limitations

Various producers and distributors point out that this ammunition must not be used in semi-automatic weapons for technical reasons.
