1 Utama is a shopping center in the suburb of Bandar Utama the Malaysian city Petaling Jaya. It is operated by the Bandar Utama City Centre Sdn Bhd and continuously expanded.
At six main levels over 400,000 m² of retail space available.
Every working day are counted in 1 Utama According to operators, 60000-90000 and on weekends even 120,000 visitors. The retail spaces are occupied higher by 98 % than that of the largest competitors in the area, the Centre Point Shopping Mall. The latest expansion, known as the "New Wing", was opened in December 2003 but officially opened by the Sultan of the state of Selangor until 2 April 2004.
In the same vicinity there are now several other malls that want to copy the success of 1 Utama and Centrepoint. For example, The Curve, Ikea and Cathay Cineleisure.
1 Utama, often informally written One Utama, is one of the famous shopping malls in Malaysia and was awarded the Retail World Excellence Awards 2006/ 07 entitled " Shopping Complex of the Year". Several Malaysian Awards can boast 1 Utama.
The U-shaped building is divided into sections which were each name. This is meant to be guidelines that went more and more after several extensions lost. These sections are also home to specific sectors of the shopping center, such as the part of High Street offers especially fashion shops nobler class. There are also sections Rainforest, Entertainment Zone, Oval (atrium of the latest building extension), Courtyard with a range of catering facilities, a center court ( atrium of the "old" part of the building ) and Promenade ( link building over a road to the extension with the old part to connect ).

A five -star hotel with 428 rooms, called " One Hotel " is scheduled to open in mid-2007.
A bus station is located near the mall and provides connections to major cities in the surrounding area and even a paid shuttle service, Cyberjaya (RM 3). A free shuttle service is offered between Mont'Kiara and 1 Utama Bandar Sunway and between / Subang Jaya and 1 Utama.
