10-gigabit Ethernet#10GBASE-CX4

IEEE 802.3ak (also 802.3ak - 2004) was the first Ethernet standard for 10-GBit/s-Verbindungen via copper cable and dates from the year 2004. IEEE 802.3ak defined connections to 10GBase -CX4, probably added from the series IEEE 802.

The standard allows transmissions with max. 10 Gbit / s. Twinax cabling by over a length of max 15 m. The speed is only ensured under optimal conditions ( connectors, cables, etc.). 10GBase -CX4 uses the XAUI 4 -lane connecting an interface, copper cabling, which is also used for CX4 InfiniBand compatible.
