10.5 (miniseries)

10.5 - The earth trembles (10.5 [ ˌ th pɔɪnt faɪv -] ) is an American television miniseries directed by John Lafia from the year 2004.

Action

The plot deals with a series of catastrophic earthquakes along the west coast of the United States, starting in Seattle, up in an earthquake with the strength of 10.5 ( on the Richter scale), the semi Los Angeles sunk in the Pacific and a mile- wide strip of land to San José is separated out from the American mainland, culminates. - The continuation of 10.5 - Apocalypse is precisely at this point without loss of time.

Background

A disaster as shown in the film is actually possible, but in a little bit longer-term period (The Big One). In addition, a tsunami until close to the coast can be seen as a tidal wave.

Awards

The special effects were nominated in 2004 for an Emmy. The cameraman David Foreman received an award from the Australian Cinematographers Society, 2005. Dulé Hill in 2005 was nominated for the Image Award.
