108 (Band)

108 is a Founded in 1991, American hardcore band. The music reflects the Hare Krishna faith of the band members. The music style of the band is therefore also known as Krishna Core. The band's name refers to the number of balls on Japamala, a kind of prayer beads.

History

After separation from the Inside Out guitarist and Hare Krishna followers Vraja Kishor ( Vic Dicara ) founded in 1991, the band 108 During the recording of an EP came Rasaraja (Rob Fish) as a singer to do so. Much like the Cro -Mags and Antidote, the band presented its Krishna faith to the fore.

Your first plates, HolyName and Songs of Separation, released on Equal Vision Records. This publication was followed by participation in two documentaries: 108: The Final Tour and NYHC

After a lengthy separation, in the Dicara emigrated to India to become a monk, the band for the Hellfest 2005 was planning to get back together. Because of legal difficulties, the festival was canceled at the last moment, but 108 could book a few spare gigs in Philadelphia. Then published a collection of demos and B-sides in self-publishing, followed by a new album called A New Beat From A Dead Heart on Deathwish Inc.

On March 23, 2010 before the release of 18.61, it was announced that Rob Fish left the band because he no longer clung to the Krishna faith.
