10th Dalai Lama
Tshülthrim Gyatsho ( born March 29, 1816; † 1837) was the tenth Dalai Lama.
Life
Since Tshülthrim Gyatsho died an early age and as a result of the former conflict between Tibet and the Empire of China, there are few records of his life. At the age of 13 years ( 1828) he began his monastic studies at Drepung Monastery. 1833, at age 18, he took on 7 Penchen Lama Nyima Tenpe monastic vows. In 1837 he died unexpectedly with only 21 years in the Potala. "During the period of the short-lived Dalai Lamas - from the ninth to the twelfth incarnation - the Panchen Lama was the one who filled the void, which left the four Dalai Lamas who died in their youth.
