113 (Band)

113 is a French hip -hop group with African and Caribbean roots, which was (more precisely, Vitry -sur- Seine) founded in the Paris suburbs and their members from the north and west of Africa, and from the island of Guadeloupe originate. Her most famous song is Tonton du Bled - uncle of the "land " (bled in maghrebischem Arabic).

The band's name comes from the name of the building in which the group spent much of their youth.

Controversy

In November 2005, a UMP deputy, François Gros Didier, the group listed in his complaint against rap music, which according to him would propagate racism and hatred. Many politicians from leftist circles accused him then that he wanted to impose only a form of censorship.
