Third Crusade
- April 20: Third Crusade: King Philip II of France and his army reached Acre.
- Mai: On the way to the Holy Land, Richard the Lionheart conquered Cyprus and takes its first and only Emperor Isaac Komnenos caught.
- MAY 12: The English King Richard the Lionheart and Berengaria of Navarre married in Limassol in Cyprus. The king then goes back on crusade.
