By Most High - Cabinet -Order ( AKO ) of 4 September 1913, the establishment of a hunter on horseback regiment was ordered to five squadrons as of 1 October of the year.
These had to give:
- The Uhlan Regiment No. 6, the 4th Squadron
- The fighter regiment on horseback No. 5, the 3rd Squadron
- Dragoon Regiment No. 13, the 3rd Squadron
- Dragoon Regiment No. 15, the 2nd Squadron
- The Uhlan Regiment No. 11, the 5th Squadron
World War I
After mobilization in July 1914 the squadrons of the regiment, their original task were under divided as courier and Meldereiterdetachements to various infantry divisions.
There were:
- The 1st Squadron to the 33rd Infantry Division
- The 2nd Squadron of the 34th Infantry Division
- The 3rd Squadron of 121st Infantry Division
- The 4th Squadron of 91st Infantry Division
- The 5th Squadron to the 1st Landwehr Division
The squadrons were used exclusively in the West. The regimental association was not restored.
The tradition of the regiment later took over the A Squadron of the Reichswehr Rider Regiment No. 2 in Olsztyn.
Uniform
The tunic was made of cloth with gaugrünem Swedish lapels and yellow buttons. Collar, advances and bonuses were bright green, the color black badge. On the shoulder pieces there was the regimental number. The leather equipment was black. Officers wore the Kürassierhelm with Dragoon Eagle, NCOs and other ranks of the dragoon helmet.
