(16 ) Psyche is an asteroid of the main asteroid belt, which was discovered on April 17, 1852 by Annibale De Gas Paris. Of the heavenly bodies was named after Psyche, wife of the Greek god Eros.
Psyche moves at a distance of 2.5 ( perihelion ) to 3.3 ( aphelion ) astronomical units in about 5 years around the sun. The orbit is inclined 3.1 ° to the ecliptic, the orbital eccentricity is 0.14.
