(17305) Caniff

( 17305 ) Caniff is one of the main asteroid belt, which by the Dutch astronomer Cornelis Johannes van Houten, Ingrid van Houten - Groeneveld and Tom Gehrels at Palomar Observatory (IAU code 033) was discovered on 24 September 1960.

The asteroid was named after the American comic book artist and author Milton Caniff - named, who created the comic strips Terry and the Pirates and Steve Canyon and was referred to as Rembrandt of the comic because of its attention to detail (1907, 1988).
