(1869 ) Philoctetes is an asteroid from the group of Jupiter Trojans. Thus asteroids are called, which run on the path of Jupiter on the Lagrange points around the sun. (1869 ) Philoctetes was discovered on 24 September 1960 by the research team Cornelis Johannes van Houten, Ingrid van Houten - Groeneveld and Tom Gehrels.
