( 19291 ) Karel Zeman is an asteroid of the outer main belt, which on 6 June 1996 by Czech astronomer Petr Pravec and Lenka Kotková (then under her birth name Lenka Šarounová ) at the observatory Ondřejov (IAU code 557 ) was discovered in Ondřejov near Prague been. An unconfirmed sighting of the asteroids had already given on 26 March 1990 ( 1990 LE4 ) on Dynic Astronomical Observatory of Japan in Shiga Prefecture.

The orbit of ( 19291 ) Karel Zeman around the Sun is highly inclined with more than 16 ° to the ecliptic of the solar system.

The asteroid is named after the Czech film director Karel Zeman. The appointment took place on 9 May 2001.
