1937 South American Championships in Athletics
The X. Athletics South America Championships were held from 27 to 30 May 1937 in São Paulo instead. In this first held in Brazil for the first time the Brazilian team won the team classification. Behind the Brazilians with 152 points, the Argentine athletes placed with 104 points, ahead of the Peruvians with 27 points and Uruguay with 14 points, the Chilean defending champions were not at the start. The most successful athlete was the Brazilian João Rehder net with two titles and a second place.
