1941–42 Primeira Divisão

The Primeira Divisão 1941/42, was the eighth season of the Portuguese top football men. The league was operating during the Second World War continues uninterrupted, because Portugal declared itself to be neutral.

The league title secured for the fourth time Benfica.

Participant

Until 1948, the teams were eligible, have qualified through regional tournaments. Promotion and relegation was introduced afterwards.

This season, the number of participants increased from eight to twelve teams. Two of taking part for the first time in the championship, namely Leca FC from Matosinhos and Olhão from the SC Olhanense and Vitória Guimarães.
