1948 Meistaradeildin

The Faroe Islands Football Championship 1948 was held in the Meistaradeildin said first Faroese league and overall was the sixth season.

SÍ Sørvágur, SIF Sandavágur and MB Miðvágur withdrew from the championship. Instead were B36 Tórshavn II and HB Tórshavn II was added to the top flight and were thus the eighth and ninth participant of this. Following the introduction of the League operation in 1947. Thus for the first and only time played four teams from the same city in the premier league Master was B36 Tórshavn, which could thus win the title for the second time. Defending SÍ Sørvágur did not participate. B36 Tórshavn II remained over the entire season without winning point. Without point remained after the introduction of league play operation otherwise only 1947 MB Miðvágur 1947 VB Vágur 1949 TB Tvøroyri 1963 and NSÍ Runavík 1976.

In comparison to the previous season, the strike rate improved to 5.07 per game. Highest wins achieved each with a 11:0 B36 Tórshavn in the home game against B36 Tórshavn II and KÍ Klaksvík in the away game against B36 Tórshavn II, which also represented the highest-scoring matches.

Mode

In the Meistaradeildin each team had to play five days once each against each other. The point- best team in the season-ending stable as champions this league, a down regulation did not exist.

Course of the season

B36 Tórshavn won except for the 1-1 draw in the away game against HB Tórshavn all games. Also HB remained unbeaten, but missed the championship by a 3-3 draw at home against KÍ Klaksvík.
