1955–56 Swedish Division I season
The 1955/56 season was the twelfth season of Division 1 as the highest Swedish hockey league. Champion for the sixth time overall in the club's history of Södertälje SK. Surahammars IF and IFK Norrköping descended to the second division.
Mode
In the main round of the league was divided into two groups ( North and South). Each of the six teams in each group completed a total of ten games. The top two teams in each group qualified for the final round, in which the Master was played. The last placed each group went directly into the second division. For a win, each team was given two points, a draw there was a point and a defeat.
