1956 Albanian Superliga

Kategoria e Pare The 1956 ( mutatis mutandis: First League ) was the 19th staging of the Albanian Football Championship and was hosted by the National Football Association Federata Shqiptare e Futbollit. The season began on March 11 and ended on November 8, 1956.

Course of the season

For the new season the league was reduced from 16 to nine teams. In the 1955 season seven clubs were relegated or had dissolved. For 1956, there was no climber. Titleholder was KS Dinamo Tirana.

The championship was played in a regular season with round-trip round. Each team met twice against every other team. The teams on the eighth and ninth went directly into the then second-rate Kategoria e Dyte from.
