Background
At McLaren Peter Gethin replaced the injured Denis Hulme.
In March - customer team of Ken Tyrrell first started François Cevert as a teammate of Jackie Stewart.
For Lotus, it was assumed that the new type 72 after initial problems when first used in Spain is now mature enough in the race to be competitive. Both works driver were then on the new vehicle.

Training

Race

Also Regazzoni came first at Ickx past but it overtook him again later in the race, thus securing third place.
