Background
In the two months that lay between the Grand Prix of South Africa and the third world championship race in Spain, three not counting World Cup Formula 1 race took place. Brabham driver Carlos Reutemann secured the victory at the Brazilian Grand Prix, the 1972 still had no world championship status.
