The motorcycle world championship 1974 season was the 26th in the history of FIM motorcycle road racing World Championship.
In the classes to 500 cc to 350 cc to 250 cc to 125 cc and 50 cc were ten and discharged eight races at the sidecars.
Scoring
- The number gewerteter runs was calculated with an even number of races held by halving this number and then added with one. For example, so went six races at four in the championship standings.
- If an odd number of races held, the number of runs was added to one and then halved. Thus, for example went at seven race four in the standings.
