1976–77 French Rugby Union Championship

The 1976/77 season was the 78th staging of the French rugby union championship. It included 40 teams in the top league ( of today's top 14).

The championship was divided into two phases. It began with the group phase in which eight teams played in five groups against each other. The five winners of each group moved into the K - o.Runde, as are the seven best teams in the Division B. This was followed by sixteenth, eighth, quarter and semi-finals. In the final game, which took place in Paris on May 29, 1977 Parc des Princes, came together the two semi-final winners and played for the Bouclier de Brennus. Here, the AS Béziers won against the USA Perpignan and won for the sixth time the champion.
