1977–78 Albanian Superliga

Kategoria e Pare The 1977/78 (in a sense: First League ) was the 39th staging of the Albanian Football Championship and was hosted by the National Football Association Federata Shqiptare e Futbollit. The season began on September 18, 1977 and ended on 7 May 1978.

Course of the season

The league consisted of twelve teams as last season. 1976/77 KS Besa Kavaja was relegated from the Kategoria e Pare, for the new season came the FK Tomori Berat, who returned to the first division after several years of abstinence, added. Titleholder was KS Dinamo Tirana.

The championship was played in a regular season with round-trip round. Each team met twice against every other team. After last year a champion and relegation round were followed, they were 1977/78 no longer held. The-table rose in the then second-rate Kategoria e from Dyte. For the following season three climbers should be added, since the league was increased again to 14 teams. The master drew for the first time since 1971 back in the European Cup of Champions. After the three Vorsaisons still Dinamo Tirana won the championship, now Vllaznia Shkoder sat down for the first time after 1973/74 by again. It was the fifth league title in club history. In a very tight decision again to avoid relegation Labinoti Elbasan and Korca Skënderbeu finally were tied at the end of the table so that two relegation matches had to be played after the regular time for the league whereabouts.

The two point same table last Labinoti Elbasan and Korca Skënderbeu met in two relegation matches to avoid relegation. After two scoreless draw Labinoti won in a penalty shootout and remained so in the top division. After the sensational runner-up as a climber in the previous year, the club continues to attract great for a big surprise - but this time for a negative. It was the second descent of the club's history.
