1979 World Series
The World Series 1979 was the 76th edition of the Finals of the Major League Baseball. There were the champions of the American League, the Baltimore Orioles, and the champion of the National League, the Pittsburgh Pirates, opposite. The best-of- seven series started on 10 October and ended on 17 October 1979. Winner after seven games were the Pittsburgh Pirates 4-3, which were able to win their fifth World Series.
As MVP Series Pittsburgh's first baseman Darrell Porter was excellent. It is thus with then 39 years, the oldest player who was elected MVP of the World Series.
