1983 UEFA European Under-18 Championship
The third U-18 Football Championship was held until May 22, 1983 in England of 13. The title was awarded France a 1-0 victory over Czechoslovakia. The FRG resigned as group runners out in the preliminary round. The German Democratic Republic, Austria and Switzerland had not qualified for the finals.

The 16 qualified teams were divided into four groups of four teams each. Within the groups played each team once against each other. The group winners reached the semi-finals. The winners of the semi-finals played in the finals for the title, losers contested the match for third place.
