1984 World Series
The 1984 World Series was the 81st edition of the Finals of the Major League Baseball. There were the champions of the American League, the Detroit Tigers, and the champion of the National League, the San Diego Padres, opposite. The best-of- seven series started on 9 October and ended on 14 October 1984. Winner after five games were the Detroit Tigers 4-1, which could thus their fourth and so far last World Series win.
As MVP of the series Detroit shortstop Alan Trammell was excellent.
