1985 1. deild
The Faroe Islands Football Championship 1985 was held in the first Deild said first Faroese league and overall was the 43rd season. It started on April 27, 1985 with the play of NSÍ Runavík against GÍ Gøta and ended on 23 September 1984.
Up ÍF Fuglafjørður returned after two years back in the top flight. Champion was defending B68 Toftir who could thus win the title for the second time. Had to descend on the other hand ÍF Fuglafjørður after a year of excellence.
In comparison to the previous season, the strike rate deteriorated to 2.62 per game, which is the second lowest average mean after 1982 since the introduction of the first Deild. The highest victory achieved GÍ Gøta with a 9-0 at home to ÍF Fuglafjørður on the twelfth game day, which also represented the highest-scoring game.

Cup decision
By the third round HB Tórshavn and TB Tvøroyri led with two wins and a draw point and torgleich the table. After two defeats, a 1:2 in the away game against KÍ Klaksvík and a 2:4 at home against LIF Leirvík, KÍ Klaksvík took over the championship lead. But even this did not last long and after a 0-5 away defeat against LIF Leirvík at eight games resumed HB the first place by goal difference. On the tenth Round HB also lost against LIF, so that for the first time B68 Toftir, who had by this time lost by 1:4 on the opening day in the away game against TB Tvøroyri only once, at the head, and this until the end of the season no longer gave. The decision for the championship was still only on the final day. B68 won his away game against NSÍ Runavík 1-0, so that the two same points pursuer the residue of two points could not make up. So availed neither HB Tórshavn 1-0 away win against TB Tvøroyri still KÍ Klaksvík the 4-1 away win against GÍ Gøta.
Relegation battle
