1985 World Series

The World Series 1985 was the 82nd edition of the Finals of the Major League Baseball. There were the champions of the American League, the Kansas City Royals, and the champion of the National League, the St. Louis Cardinals, opposite. The best-of- seven series started on 19 October and ended on 27 October 1985, went the full number of games.

The Royals were the series 4-3 games to decide for themselves, and so gain the first and only World Series title in franchise history. At the beginning of the series, however, the Royals lost both games at home in Ballpark. After a victory in Game 3 and the second away game in St. Louis was lost. Thanks to three wins in a row, the Royals were the series by 1:3 residue but surprisingly still decide for themselves.

The series is called due to the fact that both teams are located in Missouri and are connected by Interstate 70, often referred to as " I-70 Showdown Series".

As MVP Series Kansas Pitcher Bret Saberhagen was excellent.
