1986–87 ACHL season
The 1986/87 season was the sixth and final regular season Atlantic Coast Hockey League. During the regular season, five teams should each 58 games contest, but the game plan because of the premature, financially -related resignation of Troy Slapshots had to be changed. In the play-offs, the Virginia Lancers prevailed and won for the first time in their history the Bob Payne Trophy.

- The New York Slapshots have been to Troy, New York, moved and changed their name to Troy Slapshots.
