1986 African Cup of Nations qualification

A total of 34 teams entered to participate in the African Cup of Nations in 1986 in Egypt.

The qualification went all-in over three rounds. Ethiopia and Sudan were not for qualifications, Sierra Leone and Tanzania withdrew during qualifying. Hosts and holders were exempt from the qualifying matches.
