1991 Men's World Ice Hockey Championships

Mode and prehistory

In Competition mode, there was a change this year so far, was discharged as no D World Cup due to lack of interest; Therefore, the C group played again with 9 teams. In addition, it had been decided at the IIHF to increase the A group on 12 teams, making it both in the A and in the B group were not relegated this year, but four riders.
