1991: The Year That Punk Broke is a 95 -minute concert film, shot on the " The- Year -That Punk Broke " European tour of Sonic Youth. The film was shot by filmmaker Dave Markey, who produced, among others, already for Sonic Youth, Black Flag or the Meat Puppets music videos. Besides Sonic Youth and other bands perform, accompanied them on the tour. Thus we find material by The Ramones, Dinosaur Jr, also there is also material from the then unknown at this time band Nirvana that their album " Nevermind " published one month after their appearance at the Reading Festival as part of the tour. The film appeared on 13 October 2011, restored and remastered DVD. It is found there in addition to the film and bonus material, including a live recording of Nirvana's " In Bloom ".
