1992 500 km of Magny-Cours
The first 500 - km race at Magny -Cours took place on 18 October 1992, was the last scoring run in the history of the World Sportscar Championship.
The race
What on March 18, 1953 at the 12 Hours of Sebring race took its beginning, ended in October 1992 in Magny -Cours. As the winning team Mauro Baldi / Philippe Alliot on a Peugeot 905 crossed the finish line, the World Sportscar Championship was finally history. Only eight more vehicles, including six Group C racing car, were at the start, who all came to the finish and counted. A rarity in a sports car race.
