1992–93 Slovenian Hockey League season

The 1992/93 season was the second edition of the Slovenian Hockey League after the declaration of independence of Slovenia from Yugoslavia. She was discharged with six teams. Defending champion and also the new champion was the HK Jesenice.

Participants and mode

The field shrank compared to the previous season from eight to six teams since the HK Jesenice and HDD Olimpija Ljubljana in each case there was no time to compete with a second team. However, the HK Jesenice played with a weaker selection, as the team is the only Slovenian participants took part in parallel to the Alpine League (see Alps League 1992/93 ).

It was played first in the regular season a double round-trip round with a total of twenty games per team. The top four teams qualified for the second round, in which then the rankings for the playoffs were determined. The semi-final series were played in best of five mode, the final in the Best of Seven mode. The remaining four teams determined in a simple round-trip round ( six games ) the final rankings.

Regular season

As the best player of the HK Jesenice played in the Alpine League, the HDD Ljubljana dominated the regular season to taste and subject to only two of the twenty games. Only the HK Bled formed a serious competition and in the end had only a residue of two points on the league leaders. Once again the season was disappointing for the HK Slavija, who lost as in the previous year, all games and so after two years still no victory ( and no draws ) had to show. Jesenice qualified while finishing fourth just barely, but eight points clear yet confident for the next round.

Second round

With the addition of players from the Alpine League, the HK Jesenice worked in the second round before in second place, thus securing home advantage for the semi-finals. Ljubljana favorite lost just one of six games and remained at rank one. In parentheses are the bonus points from the regular season are given.
