1995 South Asian Gold Cup

The second South Asian Football Championship, officially South Asian Gold Cup 1995 was held from March 25th to April 2nd, 1995 in Colombo, Sri Lanka instead. At the tournament five South Asian nations took part. South Asia Champion 1995 was host Sri Lanka with a 1-0 win over defending champions India. A 3rd place match was not played.

It was the first SAFF Cup, the winner was determined by a knock-out system. The Maldives have been drawn in Group B, however, withdrew their application back. Bangladesh first participated in the tournament.

Venue

As a venue for the football South Asia Championship 1995, the Sri Lankan capital Colombo was chosen. It was the first tournament direction of the country. Venue for all tournament games was the Sugathadasa Stadium.
