1996 AFC Asian Cup qualification
The qualification for the Asian Cup 1996 in the United Arab Emirates was held between January and August 1996. After the withdrawal of two teams remaining 33 teams playing in 10 qualification groups. The group winners qualified for the final tournament. The host United Arab Emirates and defending champion Japan were directly qualified for the final round.
