1997 Five Nations Championship

The 1997 edition of the annual rugby union Five Nations Tournament (since 2000 Six Nations ) took place at five match days between 18 January and 15 March. Tournament winner was France, which managed with wins against all other participants the Grand Slam for the fifth time. Second-placed England triumphed against all British teams and secured for the third time in a row the Triple Crown.

Wales wore their home games for the last time in the old National Stadium, Cardiff Arms Park, which had to make way for the new Millennium Stadium in the same year. France played for the last time at the Parc des Princes (since 1998, see the French home matches at the Stade de France instead ).
