1998 CONCACAF Women's Championship
The fourth CONCACAF Women's Championship (North American Women's Football Championship) was held in the period from August 28 to September 6, 1998 in Canada and served as a qualifier for the World Cup 1999. Venues were Etobicoke and Scarborough. Winners were the Canadians who set up with their 21:0 victory over Puerto Rico a valid to this day tournament record for the first time. The field has been expanded to eight countries. Defending champion United States did not participate in the tournament, as the team qualified automatically as hosts for the World Cup.

The eight finalists were divided into two groups of four teams each. Within the groups played each team once against every other team. The group winners and runners reached the semi-finals. The semi-final winners reach the final while the semifinal losers play for third place.
