1999 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Cup

The Volleyball World Cup in 1999 was the ninth edition of the competition. He was held in Japan between November 18 and December 2. Russia won the title. This competition was the same as the qualification for the Olympic Games 2000.

  • United States of America and Cuba as the winner and runner-up of the NORCECA Championship 1999
  • Brazil Brazil and Argentina as winner and runner-up of the South American Championship 1999
  • Tunisia Tunisia as the winner of the 1999 African Cup of Nations
  • Spain and Canada as Canada wild-card participants.

Mode

The twelve participants played four rounds, where they were informally divided into two groups. The system was " every man for himself ". The first three teams were given a room for the 2000 Olympics, respectively.
