1999 Women's European Volleyball Championship

The European Women's Volleyball in 1999 took place from 20 to 25 September in Italy. The number of participants in the final round was reduced to eight teams. The Games were held in Rome and Perugia. Russia won the title for the 16th time.

Mode

The twelve participants were divided into the first round in two groups of four. The group winners and runners reached the semi-finals. The Third and Fourth played to the ranks of five to eight.

Italy was set as host.

Twelve teams played for seven other places in the finals. In two groups of six, she competed against each opponent home and away. The top three teams in each group and the best group of Fourth qualified. As Italy finished third in Group A, Germany was declared the fourth.
