2000 FIFA World Player of the Year

The World Player of the Year 2000 was awarded on 11 December 2000 in a television studio in Rome. It was the tenth of the award was introduced in 1991 by the football body FIFA award " World Player of the Year." Winner of the award was the second time the Frenchman Zinedine Zidane.

Tuning mode

The winner was determined by a vote among 150 national coaches in the world. Each of these named the three best footballers in their opinion, none of the three could come from their own country. One response to square one brought five points, second place three points, third place a point. Then the points were summed.
