2000 UEFA European Under-21 Championship
The 15 U -21 Football Championship was won by Italy. It was the fourth victory for the Italians. Holders Spain finished in third place. Germany failed to qualify. The final round for the first time to have qualified eight teams, was held in the period from May 27 to June 4, 2000 in Slovakia.

All registered teams were divided into nine groups. The group winners and the best runners- seven point reached the knockout stages. There, the eight participants were determined on the final round in the return game. In this, the four semi-finalists qualified additionally as European participants for the Olympic football tournament in Sydney in 2000.
