2001 European Baseball Championship
The Baseball European Championship in 2001 was the 27 Baseball Championship. The final round was held from July 28 to August 5, 2001 in Bonn, Cologne and Solingen instead. European champion was the defending champion Netherlands that could prevail in the final 4-0 against Russia. Hosts Germany was seventh. Sweden and Ukraine in eleventh or twelfth rise from the B group.
The EM was also the qualifying tournament for the Baseball World Cup in 2003 in Cuba, for which qualified the four semi-finalists.
Venues
After 1957 in Mannheim, and in 1969 in Wiesbaden, Germany was the third time host of the Baseball Championship. In addition to the converted for 1.05 million DM ballpark floodplain in Bonn leisure park, which took place among other opening match and final, the Cologne Riding and Baseball Stadium and the Solingener Baseball Park Weyersberg were venues for the tournament.
