2003 FIFA World Player of the Year

The World Player of the Year 2003 was awarded on 15 December 2003 in Basel. It was the 13th of the award was introduced in 1991 by the football body FIFA award " World Player of the Year." Winner of the award was the third time the Frenchman Zinedine Zidane.

The winner was determined by a vote among 142 national coaches in the world. Each of these named the three best footballers in their opinion, none of the three could come from their own country. One response to square one brought five points, second place three points, third place a point. Then the points were summed.
