2004 African Cup of Nations qualification

The qualification for the African Cup of 2004 took place between September 2002 and September 2003. 49 National Confederation of African Football took part in the qualification phase. They were randomly assigned thirteen groups, ten of them with four teams and three with three teams. For the African Cup of qualified next host defending champions Cameroon and Tunisia the thirteen group winners and the best-placed runners-up of the groups of four.
