2005 European Athletics U23 Championships
The 5th U23 European Athletics Championships were to July 17, 2005 held from 14 in Erfurt, the state capital of the German state of Thuringia.
It was attended by 811 athletes ( 465 male, 346 female ) participated from 41 countries. The German Athletics Federation ( DLV) sent 78 athletes (37 female, 41 male ).
22 nations won at least one medal, and in the points standings, the German team was 251 points in 2nd place ahead of France with 136 points, behind the Russian team with 270 points.
