2005 Faroe Islands Premier League

The Faroe Islands Football Championship 2005 was held in the Formuladeildin said first Faroese league and overall was the 63rd season. It started on March 28, 2005 and ended on 22 October 2005.

After three days ÍF Fuglafjørður finished level on points with KÍ Klaksvík the first place after both two wins and a draw could have. Relegation battle

National Cup

In the National Cup GÍ Gøta won 4-1 against ÍF Fuglafjørður. Master B36 Tórshavn was excluded after the second round of the Cup.

European Cup

2005/ 06 HB Tórshavn played as a champion of last year in qualifying for the Champions League against FBK Kaunas ( Lithuania) and was eliminated mid-July 2005 by two defeats ( 2:4 at home and 0:4 in Kaunas) from.

B36 Tórshavn played in the qualification for the UEFA Cup. In the first round of qualifying could be enforced with 1:1 and 2:1 against ÍB Vestmannaeyja ( Iceland ), in the second round difference B36 but with 1:2 and 2:2 against FC Midtjylland (Denmark).

NSÍ Runavík played as a trophy finalist last year in qualifying for the UEFA Cup. NSÍ was eliminated by two 0-3 defeats against Metalurgs Liepaja (Latvia).
