2005 World Series

The World Series 2005 was the 101st edition of the Finals of the Major League Baseball. The series started on 22 October 2005 and ended on 26 October 2005. There stood the champion of the American League, the Chicago White Sox, and the champion of the National League, the Houston Astros, opposite. Winner of the " Best of Seven " series were the Chicago White Sox by one, which is unusual for a World Series sweep. The White Sox won four games in a row and thus beat the Astros 4-0.

It was the third title in the history of the Chicago White Sox and the first success since 1917.

For the World Series MVP Jermaine Dye was chosen.
